Krister Wennerberg, Ph.D., holds a professorship at the Biotech Research & Innovation Centre (BRIC) at the University of Copenhagen since 2017. He received his Ph.D. in biochemistry from Uppsala University, Sweden. He did his postdoctoral training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA. Following his postdoc, he worked as an R&D scientist at Cytoskeleton, Inc., as an assay development group leader at Southern Research Institute in Birmingham, AL, USA and as a FIMM-EMBL Group Leader at the Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM) University of Helsinki, Finland between 2010 and 2017. His research has over the past 10 years been focused on using functional assays combined with molecular profiling and informatics to gain understanding of the therapeutic vulnerabilities and their predictive biomarkers in individual cancers.
