Mikael Benson

Mikael Benson is a professor and senior physician who directs the Centre for Personalised Medicine at Linköping University, Sweden. The main focus is to develop methods to personalise medicine by combining omics, bioinformatics, functional and clinical studies, and show clinical feasibility within 3-5 years (see attached article from Science Translational Medicine 2017). He has coordinated two EU projects aiming at personalised medicine, and been part of the leadership of a third EU project with the same aim. He is part of a scientific advisory group for Horizon2020 and serves as an advisor for PerMed.
