Peter Loengreen is acting director general of Danish National Genome Center. Danish National Genome Center is about to be established and can support further development of precision medicine in Denmark with new treatments through the use of knowledge and new technologies. Peter Loengreen will lead the establishment of the center, including implementation of a new technological IT-infrastructure in the Danish Health Care system, cooperation international as well as national within research and across the Danish Health Care system. He will support establishment of joint governance of the national strategy for Personalised Medicine and development of a new technological IT-infrastructure in the Danish Health Care system.
He is deputy head of the Danish ELIXIR ESFRI infrastructure for biological data and has prepared the framework for the Danish national supercomputing infrastructure that enable industry, life science groups and the leading hospitals in Denmark to collaborate on public and proprietary data.
Previously Peter Loengreen was Head of Supercomputing at the National Lifesciences supercomputing center, Technical University of Denmark (DTU). He was responsible for developing the Danish national supercomputer IT department and for creating a dynamic cloud infrastructure that can manage heterogeneous Big Data for Life sciences.
